 That’s right, society. Fetishize the “minority” of people with disabilities due to their vulnerability and the ease with which you can control them. Treat us not as people, but as objects, like rag dolls. We are not human to you. We know we are not human to you. We fear for the impact this fetishizing has on our social interactions, particularly those with residential aids or possible love affairs. “Do they love me or what is defined by society as wrong with me?” “Do they want me for who I am or for which limb I do not have?” “Is my caretaker going to molest me and if so, will anyone do anything about it?” “Is the ‘help’ helping or controlling?” “Will they forcefully sterilize me?” Did you know they still do that? Do you even care? Sick to the pit of my stomach, as sick as I feel when I try to drink plain water. Hurl. Perhaps those with an able-bodied priveledge cannot comprehend how disturbing it is to know there are people who objectify you for their own satisfaction due to the fact that they are well aware of their ability to overpower you; or because you are deemed “broken”, “wrong”, “taboo” by a society who demonizes and infantilizes those with “disabilities”. Disabled. Unable. Incapable, incompetent, useless, pathetic. Do you see how that term is a loaded gun? Do you see how it conjures images of helplessness? Fuck you. If I’m sick as a dog and still doing the same damn work as you, one would think I should be labled as “more than capable”. I have the advantage of perserverence. I do not take my abilities for granted like some lazy-ass. I can’t afford to.

Oh, fuck this. This update is going in a million directions and they’re all rather infuriating. WHERE ARE MY RIGHTS? MY GENDER ISN’T EVEN CONSIDERED A VALID OPTION. Fuck you. Fuck you. FUCK YOU.
